How Many Gift Boxes Should You Order?
Ordering too few gift boxes means a scramble mid-campaign; ordering too many ties up cash and shelf space in a back room. The good news is that gift box quantity math is simple once you know your monthly gifting or shipping volume.
Start with your average number of boxed units per month, add a buffer for your busiest expected period, and round up to your style’s minimum order quantity.
Account for seasonality
Holiday weeks (Q4, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day) can double normal box volume for a few weeks. Rather than over-ordering for the whole year, place a standing order sized for your normal months and a seasonal top-up order two to three weeks ahead of a known spike — well within our standard lead time.
| Program size | Typical monthly boxes | Suggested first order |
|---|---|---|
| New gifting program | 50–200 | 100 (minimum) |
| Established e-commerce brand | 300–1,000 | 1,000 |
| Corporate gifting or retail chain | 2,000–8,000 | 3,000–5,000 |
| Holiday / seasonal rollout | 10,000+ | 10,000–25,000 |
